Good Morning,
This is my first BLOG so please be patient. All I know about it is that it sounds like a good idea.

We are the creators of PublicPIM, an ontology for database design which uses all Many to Many relationships in a CRM format which is intended to be the basic building block for any of the multitude of applications that use the information stored in these basic tables.
Using this same technique to add additional subject tables, applications could be built to any scale.

We have used this in three renditions to date,

1. Desktop: http://www.opendb.org/ or http://www.eontechnologies.bg/PublicPIM
There is a preloaded MDB (TeamZaibatsu.MDB) that can be used to save loading data by data source routine in PublicPIM.
2. WEB: ASP over MS SQL7 http//www.publicpim.com/
3. WEB: PHP over MySQL http//www.infolib.ro/projects/james/publicpim4/

Used as a Central Hub, Multiple apps should be able to share COMMON DATA such as People,Groups,Addresses,Phones,Projects, and Products without having to enter them a dozen times in separate areas.

In the Desktop version we are using XML as import/Export method and also have vCard to import/export from Outlook to PublicPIM and six different Social languages are available for "On the fly" conversion of Labels,Tabs, and dialog with end-users as well as many different skins.
This release also has capability for end-user to pick different applications they may want to use with ours, such as Imaging and Reporting.

Thank You,
